Since 9.19.1.4 provides for the optional addition of the fuller form of name even when not required to distinguish between access points, I would consider the examples Amy gives to be fully RDA-compliant, not simply "RDA-compatible". A previously established heading should be considered as RDA (and left alone) if it follows the guidelines of RDA, even if it is not in the "ideal form" that catalogers using their "best judgment" would have chosen today if establishing for the first time. I think that an LCPS regarding application of *options* should apply to newly-established headings, not previously established ones (unless the previously established heading is already needing to be modified in some other way to bring it into conformance with RDA proper--not just an LCPS).
