For anyone else on the list who is a fan of Cape Breton music, I
wanted to pass on this news from the Cape Breton list:
"It is with very heavy hearts that we share with you today the passing of
Charlie "Charlie Joe" Larade, of Cheticamp. Most of you know him through
the years from your visits to Charlie's Country Music in Cheticamp. He
kept us in the music, and always had some hidden gem to share... maybe it
was an old lp or some lesser known but sterling musician... and stories
galore. His funeral will be Saturday morning in Cheticamp at 10:30 AM.

This is a major loss to fans of music from Cape Breton Island. I
remember visiting Charlie's Country Music Store (which is the front
room of a general store) in Cheticamp. I hope the business stays in
the family..
Best,
Thom
