The Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of ARSC is pleased to announce a presentation by ARSC member, Jay Bruder on Wednesday evening, November 7 at 7 PM. East Coast Connections: The Birth of the Independent Record Industry in Washington, DC after World War II describes the rise of the independent music business in Washington in the late 1940s and early 1950s and includes lots of graphics and short excerpts from musical examples.
The presentation will be in the Performing Arts Library (LM 113) of the Madison Building of the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Avenue, S.E.
There is some pay parking along Pennsylvania Ave. SE about two to three blocks from the main entrance of the Madison Building on Independence Ave. The easiest way to get to the library is from the Capitol South METRO station (Blue or Orange lines) which is only a block from the entrance.
