I had a version of such a machine. Still do in fact, although I haven't used it in at least twenty-five years because it broke down. It isn't the design shown; it is about fourteen inches wide, six deep, and flat on top. The record went into a slot across the top, like bread into a toaster. It's called Vac O Rec, made by VOR Industries, Inc. USA. A switch on top enabled one to change the machine to accept and hold either 33-1/3 or seven-inch (45 rpm) records. The records were "vacuumed" by brushes and a small vacuum cleaner inside the machine. Two friends of mine also owned them. We only used them for shellac 78s, never for vinyl to avoid any damage. The machines did a nice job with loose dust. Nothing more. They couldn't be used with any liquid. And they didn't last too long. The records were rotated by rubber rollers inside the machine that got goopy and sticky, and the little motor got progressively slower. Probably not helped by the 78s' extra weight. But I must say that it was a handy device while it lasted.
