Most cataloguers of DVDs will transcribe the producers as on the item,
but will trace them in the authorized form.
The same sometimes happens with non commercial publishers, e.g.,
government agencies and NGOs.
I feel there is no more need to trace film production companies than
commercial publishers, particularly now that multiple ones are
associated with so many films. I do see the point of tracing some
publishing agencies, but the authorized form should be in 710 not
260$b (or their Bibframe equivalents_.
I agree with Karen that publisher should be transcribed to allow
correct matching of record with item, not a controlled field.
