So,the other day,in one of my huge hauls from the Goodwill Clearance Center bins,I found a record on Regent. It's an Lp of Wagner Overtures and Preludes.Regent MG-6034.The very same Savoy-related label, that Errol Garner,Johnny Hartman, etc came out on..Except it's green, not red or blue. The orchestra listed is the "Rhineland Symphony Orchestra".The conductor is "Alfred Federer".The page at Bach Cantatas, tells me this is a pseudonym as well, and it's actually Fritz Lehmann. http://www.bach-cantatas.com/Bio/Federer-Alfred.htm
So,are these just pirates of older recordings ?Obviously there were thirty three classical titles before this, and how many after?
Oh yeah,it's mastered by Rudy Van Gelder too.
