Dear All:
Greetings! I wanted to let everyone know that two CD sets reviewed in the
Sound Recording Reviews section of the current ARSC Journal (Fall, 2012)
have been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Historical Album of 2012:
(1) *Opika Pende - Africa at 78 RPM*, Dust-to-Digital Records DTD-22,
produced by Jonathan Ward (reviewed by Christopher C. King), and (2) *Mama,
I’ll Be Long Gone: The Complete Recordings of Amédé Ardoin*, 1929-1934,
Tompkins Square TSQ 2554, produced by Christopher C. King (reviewed by
Jonathan Ward). Congratulations are in order to both Jonathan and Chris!
ARSC is doubly blessed both to have their releases reviewed and also to
have them both as reviewers!
Regards,
John H. Haley
