I can understand this argument if applied to cases such as Burma vs. Myanmar. But I'm not sure what the compromise is in the case of Taiwan/Republic of China. The current established form of name seems to follow the letter and spirit of RDA. If political implications are a significant factor, then wouldn't that argue for the name Taiwan?
