Not Marmone. He was an older gentleman, and his first name was definitely

His name was Joe Mamone, a real nice guy that always wore a hat because he
was 100% bald underneath it. He had a full moustache though.

Steve, I worked at the Hempstead branch of Radio City Music Store, selling
78s (!), LPs and 45s. I'm trying to remember the Capitol rep who serviced
our store in the mid-'50s. It was John something. A nice gentleman. He
told us that once, at a Capitol convention in Hollywood, a bunch of
'singers'
(he included) were invited to sing on IIRC a Red Ingle's disking of
"Cigareets and Whusky and Wild, Wild Women". Do you recall his name?
Don Chichester
P.S. While I was working there, John 'presold' us the up-coming Stan
Freberg
disc "Dragnet." Capitol did this everywhere! As a result, the disc went
to the top in a few days. Good merchandising.
