After struggling with EAC for a couple of weeks (all I could stand) I
ponied up a few dollars and bought Audiograbber. It's worked flawlessly
for me for years, and has accurately ripped some discs that wouldn't rip
properly on anything else. The newest version is free.

My version doesn't create a FLAC file, but I have software that can
convert if needed.
