Yes, but ....
If you were cutting DMM, you had to strictly 'mono-ize' the lower frequencies to avoid a technically impossible deep cut into the c opper master. Blending was also a 'necessary evil' when cutting lacquers - a deep cut with wide l/r bass excursions risked fill and cartridge tracking problems when vinyl was pressed into a record.
A disc record could be an amazing audio transmission medium, unfortunately subject to too many 'practical' compromises.
