DUTY LOCATIONS: 1 vacancy in the following location:
Fort Belvoir, VA United States
 
WHO MAY APPLY: Individuals who have graduated recently from a qualifying
educational institution or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply
within 2 years of completing their academic requirements for degree or
certificate completion, except for Veterans precluded from doing so due to
their military service obligation, who will have up to 6 years after
completing their academic requirements for degree or certificate completion.
Students may apply if they are within 9 months of graduating.

The Pathways Internship Program provides students enrolled in a variety of
educational institutions with paid opportunities to work in agencies, gain
valuable on-the-job training/experience, and to explore Federal careers
while still in school. Interns may work full-time or part-time schedules.


KEY REQUIREMENTS


.Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
.Background investigation required.
.Unofficial transcripts and enrollment verification required.
.Must complete a Pathways Recent Graduate Program Participant Agreement.

DUTIES:

. Serves as an Information Specialist in the Network Services
Division within the DTIC Directorate of User Services.

. Reviews and analyzes technical reports, theses, journal articles,
and conference papers in various formats covering a diverse range of
disciplines or areas of Department of Defense research in response to
customer inquiries.

. Determines appropriate databases and/or collaborative tools from
which to draw reference materials.

. Creates content for DTIC's collaborative products.

. Uses metadata to identify appropriate resources.

. Ensures that proper security classification, distribution
limitations, or government data rights of items are maintained.

. Provides assistance and training to customers on the operation of
DTIC databases and collaborative tools.

. Provides information products in response to customer inquiries
and as part of a proactive knowledge services program.
