If only logic trumped rda. Still, the statement above is an informal
fallacy "argumentum e silentio." One could just as easily conclude that
rda failed to address the issue, or did not address it practically. Of
course, given that incomprehension of the simplicity of the issue
frightened a lot of catalogers for a lot of decades, what can we expect?
