There was quite a bit of discussion about this on the Slavlibs list, so 
just to let you all know how that went...

The short answer is that the authority record is as correct as it can be.

It sounds like the Slavic catalogers in SEES will be following up on a 
transliteration table for Rusyn.

The problem is that this set of transliteration tables for Rusyn has not been adopted by LC, hence their absence from the
official list of Romanization tables (http://www.loc.gov/catdir/cpso/roman.html)

These tables appear to be used at individual libraries/librarians? discretion / depending on institutional policies, etc.
The users are not always aware of these either. Even though these have been in existence for quite some time
(http://www.carpatho-rusyn.org/voj.htm ; the latest version in Encyclopedia of Rusyn history and culture /ed. Paul Robert
Magosci and Ivan Pop, Toronto, 2006. )

 

I would be interested in officially suggesting to LC having separate tables for Rusyn. After a preliminary discussion
with some fellow Slavic catalogers (thanks very much!), I just emailed LC Policy and Standards Division with an informal
inquiry. I understand there is a long process involved, but the need to start it is certainly there. The University of
Toronto Library has one of the largest collections of Rusyn materials outside of its area of origin, so yours truly
definitely has a share of healthy self-interest in pursuing this :)

       Hi,

       I have a letter in the name of a corporate body that I don't know how to transliterate.

       The authority record is no99072487, Stovaryshynia lemkiv.

       It's the second y in the name that has an odd diacritic over it that I have never seen before. In Cyrillic,
       that letter is a "yerih," which is not part of the normal Ukrainian alphabet.

       The associated bib is a serial record, OCLC#52306033, Lemkivskii richnyk.

       I don't know if the records are correct or not. Any further enlightenment appreciated. Thanks!
