(d) if an instance corresponds to only one Work, in the case of composite Works which are subsequently split into HTML along the lines of the original Works, do the HTML pages correspond to the original or composite Work?
> Stuart, could you have a concrete example of (d)? I got lost in the Work/Works/Work... I presume
> you are talking about web pages with sounds/images, etc., but a good example would still help out.
Here are two examples, one text-based and one image-based, from the collection:
http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/tei-RusAure-t1-body-d1-t1.html is the full text (more accurately, one of the several English-language texts) of the Treaty of Waitangi. It's embedded in a much larger document http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/tei-RusAure.html "Aureretanga: Groans of the Maoris" by George William Rusden.
http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/BulBird-fig-Bul02BirdP041.html / http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/etexts/BulBird/Bul02BirdP041.jpgis a zoological image by Keulemans, embedded in http://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/tei-BulBird.html "A History of the Birds of New Zealand" by Walter Lawryþ Buller. To add to the complexity, the subject of the image is named after the author of the composite work.
cheers
