Very true. OCLC's adoption of Provide Neutral (PN) records for
e-books ignores differences which would never be ignored for, e.g.,
missing or black and white illustrations as opposed to coloured ones.
I've mentioned Credo Reference, who removes page numbers and indexes,
while introducing audio and video files. They are at least different
manifestations, if not different expressions.
Bibframe will need to separate print and electronic in one record. I
see no way of recovering data lost to electronic record merging.
