But not if you realize that an Expression is just an instance of a Work. Semantically, there is no need to lose information.

Unless the superwork becomes reality (which could also relate a movie
to the novel on which it is based, there is no hierachical relation of
a translation to the translated work. That is RDA, but not
Bibframe. The translation in Bibframe (as I understand Kevin's posts)
is its own Bibframe work, like the original.
Bibframe has works/instances, not works/expressions/instances. A
translation would not be an instance of the original work.
