It would also be useful to some who has a citation to be able to find out what works and instances are available for that citation and where they are.

Subject: Re: [BIBFRAME] FW: Citation annotations
Well, I'm thinking of a student who is putting together a bibliography (often after the fact) from the catalog. If we had a link to an authoritative depository of citations in one or more styles then s/he could click the link and obtain the info. Such a depository shouldn't be much more of a problem than these other detailed authority sources. Or, rather than a depository, we catalogers could just add an annotation/authority containing one or more completed citations using a built-in function of our ILS. Either way, I'm thinking this might be very useful for the student if the multiplicity of instances produces many slightly variant citations. Works wouldn't have citations but depending on how the associated people or corporations are presented it may be hard for the student to separate the people belonging to works and people belonging to instances.
I know there is citation software readily available but it needs to be installed which may not be acceptable to IT in the library and may not be able to handle Bibframe formatting.

Hi Michael -- Interesting idea, could you sketch a use case? (In "story"
form if possible.) That would be very helpful.
Thanks.
