I have a question not so much about the resource types themselves, but
about their anticipated functionality. These categories map so closely
to the categories in the Leader/06 that it’s hard to envision them in
new contexts, but it would be great if in future they could be used for
direct searches, instead of just for display and filtering. Some users
want all examples of a particular resource type owned by a library: e.g.
printed music, music manuscripts, textual manuscripts, 3-dimensional
objects, or graphics. I don't know of any library systems that currently
support this type of searching by resource type, but would like to cast
a vote in favor of future systems doing so.
