NEDCC SEEKS AUDIO PRESERVATION SPECIALIST
The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) seeks an audio preservation specialist with experience in digitizing various forms of grooved media for a six-month grant-funded position. This is a unique opportunity to work with the IRENE3/D optical imaging system, which was developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and has been used to recover some of the earliest recorded sound. (See: www.nedcc.org/audio-preservation<http://www.nedcc.org/audio-preservation>.)
The goal of the project is to launch a new service using the IRENE/3D technology, which, if successful, would lead to this position becoming permanent. The position begins 9/1/13 and ending 3/31/14. For complete information and to apply, visit: http://bit.ly/audioPr, or contact Tom Rieger, Director of Imaging Services, [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, (978) 470-1010.
