Just a reminder that the 2013 Biennial Survey of Depository Libraries is currently underway and will run until July 31. By completing the survey, depositories fulfill their legal obligation to report their condition every two years (44 USC § 1909).
The 2013 Survey includes new questions regarding preservation and collection conditions. Data collected from these questions will support other information gathered by the FDLP Forecast Study <http://beta.fdlp.gov/about-the-fdlp/projects/23-about/projects/133-fdlp-forecast-study>. For that reason, it is necessary to conduct the Biennial Survey earlier this year. Your Biennial Survey responses will help clarify Forecast responses and help inform a new National Plan for the future direction of the FDLP.
It is imperative your library submits the survey response no later than July 31, 2013 in order for LSCM to review responses prior to the 2013 DLC Meeting and FDLP Conference. All Federal depository libraries are required to submit a survey response.
The survey can be accessed here: <http://www.fdlp.gov/component/content/article/19-general/1484-2013-biennial-survey-ready-for-completion>.
