Judy,
The 670 field in your example is not formulated correctly. The 670 field is
used to record a source where data used to formulate the heading was found.
It should begin with a citation of the source, followed by location within
the source and information found. With a serial, the chronological
designation of the issue is generally the preferred way to identify it:
670: ## : Journal of homosexuality, summer 1982: $b [page or location where
found], ([information found])
If a note on original publication is needed, it belongs more appropriately
in a 667 or 680 field, depending on whether the note is intended to display
to the public or not. If you want to provide a reference to the source
journal, it could possibly be done in 530 field:
530: ## : $i Contained in (work): $t Journal of homosexuality, $n v. 7, no.
4 (summer 1982) $w r
It seems likely to me though, the both the note on publication history and
the tracing to a source journal would be more apt to appear in a
bibliographic record for the analyzed title, rather than in an authority
record.

Subject: Uniform Title authority records
670 note on 130 Uniform title record: Originally published in Journal of
homosexuality, v. 7, no. 4, summer 1982)
Is there an appropriate field for recording the originally published title,
vol, date information in a coded formal way?
672 seems to be an appropriate place, but when I look at the Field
Definition and Scope, I find the following: Citation for a work that is
related in some manner to the entity represented by the
100<http://desktop.loc.gov/template.htm?view=document&doc_action=setdoc&doc_
keytype=foliodestination&doc_key=Maauth100&hash=100>,
110<http://desktop.loc.gov/template.htm?view=document&doc_action=setdoc&doc_
keytype=foliodestination&doc_key=Maauth110&hash=110>,
111<http://desktop.loc.gov/template.htm?view=document&doc_action=setdoc&doc_
keytype=foliodestination&doc_key=Maauth111&hash=111> or
151<http://desktop.loc.gov/template.htm?view=document&doc_action=setdoc&doc_
keytype=foliodestination&doc_key=Maauth151&hash=151> field in the authority
record.
130 is not included in the list of fields to which this field may relate.
Is there a reason why 130 is excluded? Is there another place that is more
appropriate? Since it is a single issue of a journal, I don't see 530 as
appropriate, unless only the title of the serial is included in the 530.
