Sounds like they had the best take of the bunch and used it each time. Talking about muffed notes, nothing could be worse than the end of Fiedler's recording of Ravel's "Bolero". It sounds like the trombones thought they'd have to do a retake on the side and were fooling around. I've heard that Fiedler could be difficult and I can see him telling them to hell with it, it's going to stay that way.
