It's time to consider restructuring OCLC to "shadow" all the format
variants behind single "master" records representing the intellectual
content being cataloged.

If we are to assume that all the duplicates will eventually be merged,
what you do locally hardly matters.
Since I can edit the OCLC master records themselves, I chose the 1st
record input (or lowest OCLC # in the case of records input on the same
day). I then "copy-and-past" from the other records as needed to make that
1st master record the most complete and the others recognizable as
duplicates to OCLC's matching software.
Cheers!
