Hi Mike,

Does this mean that <archref> will only be valid within <bibliography>, <otherfindaid>, <relatedmaterial>, and <separatedmaterial> or that it should be limited to block contexts when within these fields?
Would the following be invalid?
<arrangement><p>This series is split into n separate sub-series, each described in separate descriptions:</p>
<p>
<list><item>
<archref role="http://www.archiveshub.ac.uk/apps/linkroles/child" href="gb141-ms3/prints">Prints</archref>
</item><item>
<archref role="http://www.archiveshub.ac.uk/apps/linkroles/child" href="gb141-ms3/negatives">Negatives</archref>
</item> </list>
</p></arrangement>
cheers,
Jane

I hope this stimulates discussion and comment, and serves as inspiration for the EAD community to engage with the beta release of EAD3. More information on the revision and the beta comment form are available at http://www2.archivists.org/groups/technical-subcommittee-on-encoded-archival-description-ead/ead-revision-comments.

One of our goals to remove needless complexity and simplify where possible, and especially in situations where a change allowed us to better model current descriptive standards. Toward that end, we made the following changes:
