It may be that the Electronic Literature Organization can best
recommend standards (http://eliterature.org/projects/). MIX captures
the information on technologies in creation of digital files in
digitization (http://www.loc.gov/standards/mix//) and so seems to be a
parallel to your request. Recording of provenance information for each
change on digital files is a problem with active interest from data
groups like the Research Data Alliance and the work of their Research
Data Provenance Interest Group
(https://rd-alliance.org/internal-groups/research-data-provenance.html)
may be of use.
