There is a proposal from the British Library to get rid of abbreviations:
6JSC/BL/10/, which is at http://www.rda-jsc.org/docs/6JSC-BL-10.pdf
However, at the present time you would still use them in qualifiers, e.g.:
110 2_ Dairy Research Institute (N.Z.)
110 2_ AAA (Organization : U.S.)
110 2_ Coastal Zone Management Program (P.R.)
110 2_ Agricultural Education Wives (Davis, Calif.)
I saw another one qualified by Davis, Calif. that I am wondering if should
have been coded as a geographic entity rather than a corporate entity?:
110 2_ Baggins End (Davis, Calif.)
