There is a scope function built into Sony Soundforge, plus many more sophisticated plug-ins. That 
said, I prefer an analog scope with analog equipment, which removes any problems in the digital 
realm from the situation at hand. I use an old Leader scope, which my brother recently refurb'd for 
me so the trace doesn't drift anymore.
