I assume you are talking about the arm's manual lift/lower mechanism.
I am looking at my SME arm right now, and I wonder how you disassemble
that part of it?
I have medium quantities (about a pint) of some Dow-Corning fluid which
was appropriate
for the ancient Grey arm. I'll trade some of the fluid for the instructions
that get me into the correct part of the SME lift assembly.
