BYLAWS AMENDMENT PROPOSAL: ONLINE ELECTIONS
Dear ARSC member,
The following proposed amendments to the ARSC Bylaws have been submitted to the Board for your consideration. The Ad Hoc Committee on Online Elections would like to revise the Bylaws to remove language that restricts voting to mail-in ballots and allow for the option of electronic voting, a direction many other organizations have already moved. Please note that electronic voting will be confidential, restricted to one vote per member, and will not be mandatory, i.e., members will be given an option to opt-out to receive a mail-in ballot. Certain other minor changes are also proposed.
According to Article XIV. Amendments, members shall be notified of proposed amendments to the Bylaws at least 60 days prior to the business meeting and may send comments to the Executive Director during that time. This document shall serve as your notice. Any comments received shall be read at the business meeting, a discussion shall be held during the business meeting, and final wording will be included on the ballot and sent to all members within 90 days after the adjournment of the business meeting.
Please review the following proposed amendments to the ARSC Bylaws and send comments to the Executive Director, Nathan Georgitis via email ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) or at his mailing address:
