Shipping any reel to reel deck - no matter what it's encased in, it's
important to remember to shore up the area around the supply and take-up
spindles, both the spindles themselves and the widened flange/base that
the spindles are mounted in. Depending on the diameter of the spindle
base, I've seen packing tape cardboard hubs used for this quite
effectively. For what it's worth....
