A friend of mine who's the chief engineer for a local folk club used to
borrow my (single-coil, poorly shielded) pawnshop-special electric
guitar as an RFI/EMI probe. It did a stellar job -- until I sold it. As
a guitar it was pretty worthless. He went and got an unmounted pickup to
use as a probe.
