Subject: Collection of 4,500 78s on-offer
Hello Everyone,
Posting on behalf of Mr. John Flower, of Toronto.
Mr. Flower offers a large record collection of 78 rpm discs. These are mainly artists from the Big Band Era (1935-1945) such as Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw etc. as well as some vocalists from that era and later such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Margaret Whiting, Peggy Lee, Jo Stafford etc. He has over 4500 78s to donate and would like to find a good home for them. He can supply a list if required.
Please contact me at 416-482-4407 or email me at [log in to unmask]
Sincerely,
John Flower

FYI - I inquired about Canadian content, and received this specific information:
The only records I have of Canadian content are a Happy Gang recording and the last 3 minutes of a Grey Cup game (recorded from the radio) featuring Wes McKnight as the play by play announcer a Mart Kenny Victor recording.
1. The Happy Gang record is as soft cut and features Trumpet Styles
featuring Bobby Gimby. It may be from a broadcast. The other side
is the CBC news. I don’t know what year.
2. Argos vs Winnipeg (Nov. 25, 1950) Grey Cup game (on a soft cut).
Wes McKnight is the announcer. About 3 minutes till the end of the game.
3. Mart Kenney –We’re in the King’s Navy/Smiles on Victor 216601
If you would be good enough to send this out to the Can Mus listserv that would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you know of anyone who wants 4500 78’s!
