I think I'd perhaps agree with you today now that I have a preamp with
adjustable loading (which was not on my horizon back then--I was still
in university and it was a summer job at Fisher.
The quote you responded to was snipped by Jaimie and my entire point was
that the test record that was used to show the ringing on the Stanton
(and other cartridges) actually had the ringing burned in, so in the
tests, the M91 did not ring because it was not responding to the ringing
on the record that the scanning electron micrographs showed--at least
that is my recollection. I wish I had that article now.
It's odd, because I used to rip and file all sorts of interesting
articles (interesting is a personal choice) ... heck, what do I mean
"used to" you should see my Evernote <smile> and server "info" folder
hierarchy. The article did not show up in the massive scanning of my
article files, so I don't know what happened to it.
