Hi Kate,
I missed this call. Here at the Library we use a separate instance of PRIMO as our main OPAC for our archive and manuscript collections - Search our Catalogue Archives and Manuscripts: http://searcharchives.bl.uk/
We pass data from our in-house archives and manuscripts (SQL based) catalogue which are transformed to .pnx and indexed at all levels (components). To allow users to see a result in collection context we've just launched a collection browser - clicking on ‘Browse this collection’ (to the right of details). An example can be seen from http://hviewer.bl.uk/IamsHViewer/Default.aspx?mdark=ark:/81055/vdc_100000000393.0x0000f5 which also allows linking to digitised content where available.
We are discussiong how we make this data available in the Library's main OPAC (Explore: http://explore.bl.uk) and so the information you've gathered here provide much food for thought!
Yours,
Bill Stockting

Subject: Archival description display and indexing in Primo (summarized)
Apologies for cross-posting:
Because we will shortly be implementing Primo, the Ex Libris library discovery layer, I contacted archivists via A&A and Twitter for examples and experiences with indexing and displaying archival descriptive metadata in Primo.
While only a minority of the installations are indexing EAD in Primo, I think it is worthwhile looking at the variety of approaches they have taken. Most institutions are indexing MARC data.

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my call. You were all so very generous with your information!
Kate
