Hello,

I am looking for advice on faceting locations.

We are currently using Getty's Thesaurus for Geographic Names in the 
subject's subelement <geographic>.  To accomplish faceting, we will use the 
hierarchicalGeographic subelement and possibly switch to LCSH terms.

We are also thinking about faceting orginInfo's subelement <place> for 
correspondence materials.  I am not sure how we will approach this.  I was 
wondering if a hierarchicalGeographic subelement has been discussed for 
originInfo element in the next MODS release.

Please let me know what work for your faceting projects and controlled 
vocabularies.
