It may be a combination of mis-remembering and mental confusion, but I seem
to remember Stokie doing a particularly egregious swath of cutting in a
recording of Tchaik 5 that I once heard (maybe even own). Can anyone back
me up on this? I suppose that he would have been likely to take such a cut,
even if I imagined this one, given his propensity for arranging and
re-orchestrating whether the work needed it or not.
Not meant as a critique. I am actually a fan of a lot of his legacy.
