I'm having problems with these.
Basically they are old and suffer from little dropouts making the
sound 'jagged.' This is where the tape has become a little crinkled.
Is there an Effect that can smooth the sound - which is singing,
guitars and fiddle.
Also a few of the cassettes were recorded whilst the capstan or tape
spools were sticking resulting in wow &flutter. Again is there an
Effect that can smooth out the recording. The tspes have some hum and
I understand that this can be used to correct the playback.
As for mains hum one serious recording has hum way above the music. It
is basically at 100Hz but also at 400Hz and 200Hz. Removing it make
the sound of the music and singing 'patchy.'
If anyone has any advise please let me know!!!
