Mark your calendars for next Wednesday night when PBS will show the
"Sound" episode of the series "How We Got To Now with Stephen Johnson". It will
include a 5-minute+ section on Leon Scott and the Phonautograph including
an interview with collector David Giovanonni.
Also, on Friday night PBS will air a one-hour documentary titled
"Hitmakers". While it is mostly concerned with how rock and pop artists distribute
their music these days, at the 35 minute mark (approx), you will hear George
W. Johnson's "Laughing Song" (with photo of GWJ) and Edison is discussed
for about a minute or two.
I just wanted to provide a heads up.
