BIBFRAME does a fairly good job of support for transcription with 
"statement" properties.

In particular, providerStatement is the means to record what is on the 
piece, and then providerName and providerPlace can be URIs.

titleStatement allows transcription of titles, and responsibilityStatement 
handles the equivalent of 245 $c.

BIBFRAME needs a seriesStatement property to allow transcription of series. 
In general, support for series is as yet inadequate.
