Totally forgot to consider volcanos!
Also meteor strikes. There are written descriptions of a very loud boom heard dozens if not hundreds
of miles away when that meteor hit Russia in the early 1900s. Also what about the sonic booms
created by that more recent meteor strike in Russia? Remember the cellphone footage. Loud enough to
break a whole lot of windows.
