"Speaking of which, what was "the shot heard 'round the world"?"
And then there was the old joke about sending some cows into outer space..."the first herd shot around the world."
As for "loud" classical music, there is a CD on Ondine which has the title "Earthquake." It features music by Segerstam, Druckman, et al. It includes music of Leifs..."Hekla." Missing is anything from the Kernis "Symphony in Waves," a work generally considered to have some passages that are amongst the loudest in classical music.
Not to be outdone by classical music, the soundtrack to the movie "Earthquake"...music by John Williams, features what is supposedly the sound of an earthquake.
