I hesitate to post this, but I am an Institutional member of ARSC and although a manufacturer I have some information on preamplifiers.
The XLR connectors on the back of the Timestep T-01EQ can be special ordered to do just about anything as there is a separate PCB for this function, including sum-mono. www.78-rpm.co.uk
Providing an XLR summed output is possible but in my view better left to the software if that's an option. The summing in the EQ section like others is very flexible. I'm up for any ideas though ?
But, and here is a big but, a true mono cartridge will outperform a properly summed stereo cartridge, in my view. The reason is, I believe that the electrical summing technique only sums exact out of phase vertical movement, whereas a dedicated true mono cartridge with mechanically locked vertical movement, removes all vertical and nearby movements.
I hope you read from this what I meant to write ?
I don't ever remember a manufacturer taking part here, is it OK ?
Regards
Dave
