It's a bit unfair to lump the BBC in with this. What they did - and
virtually every other broadcaster in the world - was be selective with what
they kept. You could say the same about record companies too in regards to
multitracks and out takes. They had no idea it would have worth in the
future. Not exactly the same thing as a natural disaster.
