I wonder if the decline in music sales can come from the lack of music on
Television. Back in the 60s you had variety shows, Andy Williams, Dean
Martin and of course Ed Sullivan. Pop music shows, Shindig, Where The
Action Is, etc.
Classical music such as the Boston Pops concerts. I understand CBS owns the
rights to the Boston Pops 4th of July and doesn't even run it. That is a
shame.
Even today VH1 and MTV are airing many non-music shows.
Not long ago here in Kentucky the Discovery Orchestra shows were run at 3
AM by our state wide Ky TV educational network, guess they figured not
enough viewers to run it in prime time.
Anyone agree, or disagree???
