The position is located within the Histories and Archives Division (HAD); which is a branch of the Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC). The Supervisory Librarian duties will include the following:
- Provide comprehensive reference, research, advisory, evaluative, and instructional services to individuals and groups in support of the library's mission.
- Supervises Reference Section staff on reference and readers services matters including work assignments, website and social media development, and training needs; as well as develops performance plans and rates employees.
- Coordinates with Library Director on budgetary matters and evaluates and recommends materials for the library's collection.
