which, assuming bf:x would be set up as having a domain of bf:Title, would
by inference turn <http://bibframe.example.com/workX> an instance of bf:Title .
Perhaps that would be rather the ideal way to go: Combining this with other
statements about <http://bibframe.example.com/workX> from the same source
one could rapidly conclude that this is a source which does not make the
elaborate distinctions deemed necessary by others.
We had been discussing differences between
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:title “Lord of the Flies”
and
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:title [bf:x “Lord of the Flies”]
(or rather the possible issues in an universe permitting both). From your
statement I read that we rather could compare
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:x “Lord of the Flies”
and
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:title [bf:x “Lord of the Flies”]
or, by renaming the properties to something more "natural"
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:title “Lord of the Flies”
and
<http://bibframe.example.com/workX> bf:titleStatement [bf:title “Lord of the Fli
es”]
I think some of the problems discussed could be elegantly solved by that
approach, others (especially decomposition by deeper analysis of strings)
unfortunately not.
