[[Name of dealer withheld]],
Took note of your listing below. Very nice record, and I haven't seen this
particular one before, though I have seen other JW Hanks. I am a
discographer interested in the Rodeheaver Company's output. I developed an
inventory for the Winona History Center on an ARSC grant, and published the
findings through the ARSC Journal in 2008.
Say, do you know what the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) was? It was an
organization made up of Union Army veterans and their sons. Mr. Hank
belonged to the GAR and, or course, fought on the side of Civil War that
opposed the side that brought forth the Ku Klux Klan. So your claim here
that this disc is a "possible KKK item" is in error; the disc is rare and
of interest on its own terms, but it is no way, not in a million years, a
"possible Klan item."
best to you,
