Hi Jennifer,
Are you certain that what you see on the disc is mold, and not palmitic acid
deposits?
Also, if you are planning to digitize the discs in-house, do you have a
turntable equipped to handle 16" discs?
The Audio Archive has a great resource page on their site about dealing with
16" discs:

Subject: [ARSCLIST] LP Record Care Assistance
Hello,
The Montana Historical Society has a small collection of 16" and 12" LPs. I
am in charge of inventorying them and figuring out in-house preservation
measures. I was wondering what the proper cleaning and mold remediation
methods would be? I have found mold on only one LP (so far) and it is
dormant. I would also like recommendations on preferred vendors for storage
materials and digital reproduction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jennifer
