Hi folks,
I know Ira Ironstrings was a pseudonym Alvino Rey used for his late 50s/early 60s records on Warner Bros. when he was contracted to Capitol.
Does anyone know who some of the other band personnel were on those records? I am told Red Norvo was one. Some local radio hosts here in Pgh are curious. There is an Alvino Rey discography published in the 80s by Charles Garrod and William Korst but alas, that only covers Rey's output from 1939-1958. The Ira Ironstrings records are right after that time period.
I wonder if they were documented in Warner studio logs (and if those exist anywhere and are accessible) or if pseudonyms were used on those too.
Thanks,
Tim
